The Constant Journey of Learning

Learning has been a quiet constant throughout every chapter of my life. It’s how I make sense of the world and my place in it. As I reflect on my experiences, I realize that every phase of life has included a commitment to growth and understanding.

The Magic of Reading

Long before job titles and LinkedIn endorsements, I focused on seeking new knowledge. In second grade, I started to read a fantasy series by an author we all try to forget. My parents always called me a reader, but this series marked my awakening. It was the first collection of books that truly captivated me. I even stayed inside during recess to devour a chapter or two while my supportive teacher, perhaps seeking a break from the chaos, munched on an apple or graded papers on her desk.

As I matured, the internet opened new doors for my learning. I could delve deeper into topics and connect with others who shared my passions. A simple fictional book often led me to explore the real-world inspirations behind its story.

In college, my journey into learning deepened. History became my focus, but I knew I couldn’t be a student for life. With a heavy heart, I added an Education major to complement my History studies. If I couldn’t stay a student forever, my goal became to inspire a love of learning in the public school system.

A Different Journey Unfolds

However, my plans took an unexpected turn. Instead of stepping into a classroom, I found myself working at the Apple Store as a part-time employee during college. After graduation, I received an offer to become a full-time trainer. It wasn't my original plan, but it turned out to be the ideal environment for me. I loved my coworkers and thrived in the innovative atmosphere Apple cultivated.

This serendipitous turn led me to carve out a niche in Learning Experience Design. This space allowed me to research, learn, and spread my passion for education within the corporate realm. Yet, life surprised me once again when I faced an unexpected layoff.

Navigating the Unexpected Pause

2025 has indeed been a tumultuous journey, not just for me but for many others who have experienced layoffs. Initially, I was unsure of what to do next. I wasn't even certain if everything would be okay. The uncertainty still hangs over me, but I know one thing: I must keep moving forward.

Now, while job hunting occupies my mind, I find myself with more time than I had during employment. In this unanticipated pause, I am fully embracing my exploration of Learning Experience Design, not merely as a job, but as an enduring passion.

This blog serves as both an introduction to my journey and an invitation for others to join me in the pursuit of curiosity, growth, and the lifelong endeavor of becoming.
